This year's installment of the Philippine Readers and Writers Festival brings a slew of amazing talks, authors and book signings and I am lucky enough to be able to participate again in a panel with these book bloggers: Kate of The Bookaholic Blurbs, Hazel of Stay Bookish, Lyra of Defiantly Deviant, JM of The Bookfreak Revelations and Eunice of Nerdy Talks Book Blog.
Last year we had a panel to discuss the basics of book blogging, but this time around we are going to be discussing something very timely and extremely relevant (and quite a bit scary, if you ask me). This year we will be talking about sensitive topics involving diversity, book shaming, cultural representation and other controversial book disputes not only in the YA community, but to the reading community as a whole.
I am thrilled and nervous at the same time. There's just so much going on in the community right now. It is changing, and we want to discuss as well as share our thoughts on these topics in a proper venue and hopefully engage in a meaningful discussion with a lot of readers and attendees of the festival! If you have time, drop by on August 27th at Namayan Room in Raffles Makati! Our panel starts at 5:00 pm and we have an hour and a half, we promise it's going to be worth your time.
If you want to know what else is in store for you in PRWF 2017, check the full schedule below.
I hope to see you there! We will be bringing a few treats (and by that I mean books/ARCs) to give away to a few lucky attendees of our panel!
